Rightly
Dividing The Word Of Truth For
the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead,
to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number
of
teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. II
Timothy 4:3
Sound Doctrine -
Bible Truth - Bible Teaching - Contending For The Faith - Biblical
Doctrine - Spiritual Discernment
When
we look at the New Age movement a Bible passage from
Ecclesiastes 1:9 comes to mind where Solomon says,
"There is nothing new under the sun." This was
never so true as it is with the New Age Movement. The truth
is there is really nothing new here that wasn't
attempted to be passed on by the pagan and Gnostic
teacher for thousands of years with a new glossy look
added to cover what was taught before and answered in
the past as heresy over and over again. The New
Age movement is strongly linked with Hinduism, which was introduced
into western culture in the 1960s with growing interest in
Eastern gurus, transcendental meditation and many other
eastern philosophies. Many popular music groups of the 60's fell for
these teaching, and in turn their fans followed along
blindly.
Who Goes
There? A Critical Investigation Into
The Claims Of Channeling
One of most
dangerous phenomena is know as channeling. The video above
is very telling of what is going on when people listen to a
spirit they have no way of knowing for sure who it is.

The Christian church has been dealing with these false
teaching almost from it's beginnings with the Christian heresy
of Gnosticism. However in the last 30 years or more there
has been a growing interest in the early Gnostic teachings
with radical theologians and this has begun to trickle down
into the main line churches slowly over the years. These
Hindu and Gnostic teaching have been presented to the church
for decades, each time in a new and more refined
presentation and are today being accepted into many mainline
Christian churches where they would have been unmasked has heresy
and their teachers run our of town on a rail, just a few
short decades ago.
These
Hindu and Gnostic teaching started getting a foothold in liberal
denominations that are so open to any teachings they are not
even considered Christian denominations by many today.
Groups like, Unitarian Universalist, Universal Life Church,
and others are on the far side doctrinally from the
Christian church and actually have no creed and are open to
all beliefs. But these New Age teachings are now entering
into main line "Christian" denominations and you
find New Age terms and practices growing more common and
being accepted in
these churches like contemplative
prayer, reincarnation, imaging, Reiki
Therapy, channeling, and more.
New Age teachings like "A Course in Miracles"
and "A New Earth" are one that are gaining momentum
due to their being reintroduced by Oprah Winfrey along
with other New Age lies.
One of the New Age Movements first celebrity proponents was
Shirley MacLaine who in her book "Out On A limb and the
1987 5 hour ABC mini-series, shared with the world her
introduction to New Age thought and teachings. But
though Shirley MacLaine standing on a beach and
screaming out, "I Am God!" was thought of as just
another Hollywood star and their weird fads, has come full
circle today where we have "Christian" television
ministers with 10's of thousands of followers saying that
"we are little gods."
Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Hagen and countless
others are preaching these new age lies as being Bible
truth. There are thousands of other lesser known pastors
teaching the same lies to their congregations around the
world. Yes, the new age movement is alive and well and
has it's foot in the door and pulpits of
"Christian" churches across the country.
